Canceled: Children's Book Launch and Family Friendly Celebration

Event is canceled as of 8/24/17:

Austin-based children’s author and illustrator, Don Tate, is the illustrator of more than fifty critically acclaimed trade and educational books for children, and the author of two award-winning titles. His most recent work, Strong As Sandow: How Eugen Sandow Became The Strongest Man On Earth is a picture book biography (ages 6-9) about Victorian strongman Eugen Sandow, known as the Father of Modern Day Bodybuilding. While composing the manuscript for Strong As Sandow and also for visual references in his illustrations, Don used resources found at The Stark Center and on our website.

Please join us as we celebrate the publication of Don’s book with a family friendly launch party that features an author’s video and live reading, strongman and bodybuilder videos, a children’s clothes-on pose-down, light refreshments, and much more. The book will be for sale at the event through BookPeople. Strong As Sandow is a Junior Library Guild Selection.

Our event takes place on Sunday, August 27th at 3pm, right here in the Stark Center.
