The Community Conversations series is designed to invite consideration of Vincent Valdez’s The City through close looking, understanding of the artist’s process and intentions, and wide-ranging conversation about racism in our society. Two facilitators—a Blanton staff member and community leader–will frame the discussion and encourage thoughtful conversation with a group of visitors interested in dialogue. Each session will last about 45 minutes and be limited to 50 participants.
This event will be facilitated by Veronica Roberts, Curator, Modern and Contemporary Art, Blanton Museum and Community Partner Lulu Flores, Chair of Austin Arts Commission.
