Volunteer: Dairy Metabolism Study

Sponsored by the UT Cardiovascular Aging Research Laboratory, the Dairy Metabolism Study examines the acute effects of non fat milk consumption on the cardiovascular response. Men and women ages 20-40 are invited to participate, excluding individuals with cardiovascular acting drugs, pregnancy, and lactose intolerance.  Interested subjects must be overweight and inactive.

Commitments include two screening visits and six testing visits in the morning lasting between 3-6 hours during which participants will consume a high sugar beverage or high fat meal, with or without non fat milk. Additionally, each testing day requires two preceding days of diet and exercise control (food will be provided). Participants will be compensated $400 at the completion of the sixth testing visit.
