R is a free programming language designed originally to run statistical analyses and visualize data, but it can do much more. This introductory workshop will provide basic exposure to R using the tidyverse (a suite of R packages that streamline data analysis) for individuals with little to no previous experience with coding. The goal is to provide experience so attendees are comfortable continuing to learn independently after the workshop. We will cover: Coding in R with RStudio, basic coding principles, reading data (readr), interacting with data (dplyr and tidyr), and visualizing data (ggplot2). The workshop will be largely example based with a heavy emphasis on participant coding with plenty of time for questions.
Please fill out this pre-survey so we can gauge attendees' levels and interests.
