Register: Create Your Own Little Black Dress

Ever wanted to learn how to sew? Make a pattern from scratch? What if you could learn all of these skills from UT's textiles and apparel instructors in two weeks? The Fashion Design Workshops and Conference Series presents garment construction and patternmaking the weeks of June 9-13 and June 16-20. Workshops are open to UT and non-UT students. Register now to reserve your spot.

Week one (June 9-13), students learn the basics of sewing technique - including cutting, hand stitching, seam and hem finishes, pocket construction, pressing, and finishing.

Week two (June 16-20), students learn about patternmaking. Using their own body measurements, students create a basic dress sloper (pattern block), develop original dress designs, create patterns and apply proper construction techniques to produce a one-of-a-kind dress.
