The show was great, first visit to Bass Concert Hall. The lines outside were moving at a very different pace so you needed to get a bit lucky for the "right" line. Once inside, the venue was really nice. Band shirt/programs sales were set up just inside the doors with food/drinks available on various levels.

We walked around and checked out the works of art, interesting to say the least. There was ample seating, couches, tables/chairs and standing room on each of the 4 (or was it 5) levels.

Once the seating opened, ushers were helpful in pointing out specific seats. We chose balcony seating for various reasons but were quite happy with the ability to see the band clearly. The music mix was also pretty decent, the sound wasn't too boomy (from walls/overhang) and the seats were comfortable. The venue seemed very clean including the hallways, the elevators and the restrooms.

The only complaint I could offer is the venue seating was unavailable to concert attendees until 15 minutes before showtime, thus leaving us to mill around in the foyer. Perhaps that was the intended purpose as the drink sales were bustling! Only a minor nuisance but we typically like to locate our seats THEN go searching for the nearest food/drinks.

All in all, a great show in a great venue, and of course, it was on the University of Texas campus which I always love! Thanks for hosting Dream Theater, very glad I didn't miss this show.
