"Empollerada & Empoderada:” A Talk and Workshop by pollera designer Qarla Quispe

Please join us for a talk, exhibition, and workshop by pollera designer Qarla Quispe from Lima, Peru, entitled "Empollerada & Empoderada.” The “pollera” is a traditional cultural artifact valued as a symbol of identity across the Andes. The talk will take place on Thursday, December 7 at 4 PM at the Benson Conference Room (SRH) 1.208, and will be followed by a wood engraving workshop, “Estampa tu diseño,” at 5 PM. To attend the workshop please RSVP to sbernalh@utexas.edu
