Hot Science-Cool Talks: Extreme Weather

Learn how meteorologists work with variability when they are trying to forecast the weather with featured speaker Dr. Kevin Kloesel, director of the Oklahoma Climatological Survey (and a Lifetime UT Longhorn). His talk will include highly engaging audience participation activities.

Additionally, this event features a community science fair with many fun, hands-on weather-related activities. Come experience what it's like to be a TV weather reporter with our green screen setup.

This event is designed for science fans of all ages, is very kid-friendly and a great way to inspire kids into science.

Parking: Hot Science-Cool Talks (HSCT) attendees can get coupons for $3 parking for the San Jacinto Garage at http://www.utexas.edu/maps/main/buildings/sjg.html. Volunteers at the garage will hand them out to only HSCT attendees. We suggest processing the coupons before heading to Welch Hall because the customer service kiosk closes at 8 p.m.

Can't make it in person this Friday? Join in via webcast at 7 p.m. Central, and ask real-time questions of Dr. Kloesel. Visit https://mediasite.esi.utexas.edu/UTMediasite/Play/b2f41e2ecf4e464d84b314413accd6851d
