Interpersonal & Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) Workshop

The Bipolar Disorder Center in the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences will host a two-day workshop (4/19-4/20) on Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT).  IPSRT, an evidence-based psychotherapy for adults and adolescents suffering from bipolar disorder, was created and developed by Ellen Frank, Ph.D. and Holly Swartz, M.D. at the University of Pittsburgh. This treatment combines a behavioral approach to increasing the regularity of daily routines (social rhythms) with an interpersonal approach to coping with interpersonal life stress and social role problems.  This workshop will consist of an overview of the treatment and assumes no prior knowledge of IPSRT. Ellen Frank and Holly Swartz will lead the workshop, focusing on the theoretical rationale for IPSRT and on developing skills needed to conduct individual and group IPSRT.
