“Keeping The Lights On As We Transition To Renewables” kicks off UT Energy Symposium

At the first UT Energy Symposium talk of the fall semester, Gene Preston, CEO of Transmission Adequacy Consulting, will give a talk titled “Keeping The Lights On As We Transition To Renewables.”

Gene is a PhD in electrical engineering graduating from UT in 1997 specializing in grid reliability assessment.  He worked at Austin Energy from 1970-1998 planning the generation, transmission, and distribution systems.  He now performs wind and solar interconnection studies and reliability studies as a private consultant.

The UT Energy Symposium meets every Thursday during the long semesters. Come early to attend a networking session before the talk: refreshments will be served at 4:45 p.m. in the POB Connector Lobby outside the auditorium.
