Sisters of Nia Group Facilitators Needed

Graduate-level Latina/Hispanic and African American/African descent female group facilitators are sought to assist with the Sisters of Nia research project. The job involves co-facilitating a series of after-school cultural enrichment and self-esteem-building groups for Latina and African American middle school girls, ages 11-14. Topics covered are issues of race, culture, mental health, dating, sexual behavior and relationships. This volunteer opportunity requires facilitators to complete the intervention training, which will occur in early February.

This project is being conducted by UT professors Dr. Dorie Gilbert (Social Work) and Dr. Delida Sanchez (Counseling Psychology). If interested, contact Dr. Dorie Gilbert at
