Lone Star Zine Fest

The Lone Star Zine Fest will feature over 30 zine creators, collectives, distributors, retailers, libraries and small presses for an exhibition showcasing a diverse array of independent publishing talents from Central Texas and beyond.

The Fine Arts Library at the university has been developing a ‘zine collection since 2010, an effort which received a major boost last year when artist and collector Russell Etchen donated his extensive personal collection to the library.

The exhibition runs from 1 – 4 p.m., and attendees will have the chance to meet ‘zine creators, learn about zine libraries and places you can buy zines both locally and online and learn to make mini-zines at our family-friendly ‘zine making area. Readings and performances will take place at a happy hour from about 4:30-6 p.m.

Lone Star Zine Fest is organized by a local group of ‘zine aficionados and co-sponsored by the University of Texas Libraries, Sherwood Forest Zine Library, Town Talk Library and artist Josh Ronsen.
