This collaboration between the Butler School of Music and the Blanton Museum of Art explores the connections between musical and artistic forms. Faculty and student musicians perform work from a specific period of music history and discuss with museum experts the relationship between musical and visual style.
This month, the Mohinya Duo performs Ravel and Kodaly duos and other selected works. The musicians are participating in a residency to explore how to heighten individualism within the context of a chamber group. They compare their artistic process to that of 16th-century chiaroscuro prints in the Julia Matthews Wilkinson Center for Prints and Drawings.
Included with museum admission. Free for UT students, faculty, and staff.
