Midday Music Series

Tuesday, June 24 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Blanton Museum of Art (BMA) 200 MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD E, Austin, Texas 78705

This collaboration between the Butler School of Music and the Blanton Museum of Art explores connections between musical and artistic forms. This month features flute and guitar duo Duo Epsilon, performing works by Bulgarian composer Atanas Ourkouzounov and the Argentine tango composer, Astor Piazzolla. Following the performance will be a discussion of Quipus 58 B by Peruvian artist Jorge Eielson. The concert celebrates the ways that visual artists and composers incorporate regional folk idioms into their work to assert pride in their cultural identity.

What a lovely way to spend lunch, listening to classical music while exploring the nearest open art exhibit. The acoustics make the concert enjoyable beyond the grand hall if there are no available seats.
