Music and Dance in Colonial America

UT Early Music Ensemble “Austinato,” in collaboration with the ensemble “Concierto Barroco” from Mexico, present a concert of 17th- and 18th-century Mexican music and dances.

The evening features rarely performed music from manuscripts still preserved at the cathedral of Puebla, in Chalco, and Guadalajara.

The concert, performed on period instruments, offers a taste of the musical and dancing traditions of the Americas during the colonial period.

Free Admission.
