NAFTA + 20: An Assessment of Intended & Unintended Effects

After 20 years, NAFTA has deeply integrated the production systems, economic organizations and financial management of Mexico with the United States and Canada. This integration has resulted in a tripling in trade for the United States, Mexico and Canada amidst criticism of inequality and accusations of labor exploitation. NAFTA + 20 brings together leading scholars and policymakers from Canada, Mexico and United States, some of whom were engaged in the original research and negotiations that led to the signing of NAFTA.
