Screening: “Pandora’s Promise”

“Pandora’s Promise” is a controversial new film that examines several environmentalists and energy experts' conversion from fiercely anti- to strongly pro-nuclear power. The screening will be preceded by a networking reception and followed by a Q&A session and panel discussion moderated by Energy Institute assistant director Dr. Fred Beach. Former Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chair Dr. Dale Klein, an associate director at the Energy Institute, and Karen Hadden, executive director of the SEED Coalition, will participate in the discussion and answer questions from the audience.

Excellent film which will never be in commercial cinemas. Q & A after wqas most informative.
Unfortunately, I thought the film would start at 5:30 pm and finish and then run to Lecture on "Research Libraries" but impossible to do since film started after 6:00 pm.

The movie focuses on showing that nuclear power is safer than carbon-based power. It does not address the question of whether an all-renewable economy is possible and what it would cost compared to a mixed, non-carbon economy.
