In this Lecture, Alvaro Santos, a Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, will present his forth-coming work on the role and position of labour rights in furture trade agreemnts between states. The event is part of the Colloquia series of the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice at UT Law.
With trade agreements among and between States now prominent across geographical boundaries in what is referred to as the "spaghetti bowl", it would be interesting to hear how labour rights can fit into the discourse and the resulting negotiated agreements from the view-point of Professor Santos who teaches and writes in the areas of international trade, law and economic development, drug policy, transnational labor law and the future of NAFTA. You will also have an oppotunuty to ask questions.
There will be light refreshment before the main talk.
