Registration is now open for UT’s 2014 Summer GIS Institute (SGISI), taking place May 23 and July 18-19.
SGISI offers intensive workshops for various levels of experience. Whether you are new to GIS or a seasoned technician, SGISI provides a unique hands-on opportunity to acquire valuable skills directly from experts in the field. This year the UT Summer GIS Institute (SGISI) is open to up to 75 participants.
Friday, May 23, 2014 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Open to faculty, graduate students, staff, and the general public. Aimed at people who currently use or wish to incorporate more environmental, health, and or socio-economic GIS into their work. Two tracks will focus on raster and vector GIS approaches separately.
Friday, July 18, 2014 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
& Saturday July 19, 2014. 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Primarily for pre-service and practicing 6-12 Social Studies teachers, but with open registration to anyone wanting to use GIS as a teaching tool.
Registration will be capped at 25 per section.
Cost is $175 per session, and includes one boxed lunch.
