Research Speed-Dating

The UT Science Communication Interest Group presents Research Speed-Dating. Using a “speed-dating” format, this professional development event will hone your ability to explain your research to laypersons.

You’ll receive feedback from attendees outside of your discipline on what they did and didn’t understand, their sense of why your research matters, and communication tips for improvement—which you can immediately incorporate and try again—and you’ll give the same feedback to others. Faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and undergraduates are invited to attend.

The event will be from 5-6 p.m. and be followed by a networking reception with refreshments from 6-6:30 p.m.

To participate, and to help us to provide enough refreshments, RSVP at https://goo.gl/forms/RJ3d3SiRimRhkf662
