Research Study for Children with Hearing Loss & Speech Sound Disorders

Researchers UT Austin want to find out which types of speech therapy are most effective for children with hearing loss. This research study is for children with cochlear implants or hearing aids. Research is always voluntary!

This study might be a good fit if your child

  •  Uses a cochlear implant or a hearing aid
  •  Uses verbal communication
  •  Has difficulties producing speech sounds
  •  Is between 3-5 years of age
  •  Speaks English as their primary language

If you and your child decide to take part in the search study, you would:

  • Receive a standardized assessment of your child’s speech

  •  Participate in up to 8 sessions of evidence based speech therapy

  • administered by a graduate student clinician FREE of charge at the UT Speech and Hearing Center

  • Receive a report at the end of therapy detailing progress
