Employing best practices in data management in everyday scientific work can vastly facilitate reproducibility and seamless reuse. Ana Trisovic, CLIR Postdoctoral Fellow in Data Curation for Energy Economics at the University of Chicago, will present her work on facilitating computational reproducibility and open sharing of research outputs. Dr. Trisovic identified a number of drivers and barriers around reproducibility and sharing in energy economics through a survey conducted at the University of Chicago Energy Policy Institute. This talk will elaborate on the most commonly observed reproducibility issues and their implications, and provide actionable steps for data and software management that can be applied to various social science disciplines. Dr. Trisovic will introduce the Whole Tale project, a web-based platform for enabling reproducibility. She will present a demo of the service in the following order: identify main research components, go through the submission process and publish the materials. She will elaborate on how Whole Tale solves some of the reproducibility issues present in social sciences.
