Donatello Telsca and the Division of Statistics + Scientific Computation host the Harrington Fellow Symposium titled "Bayesian Analysis and Scientific Computation."
Bayesian inference and advanced scientific computation form a duality in the domain of statistical practice. While the Bayesian analytical paradigm has encouraged the flourishing of ever more faithful probabilistic formalizations of scientific problems, the practice of Bayesian inference has shaped and is shaped itself by advances in computation. The aim of this symposium is to glimpse in this duality and reflect on both inferential principles and new computational constraints/opportunities.
