UT Energy Symposium: Averting Energy Catastrophe: Why I Bet the Farm on China and Innovation

This week, the UT Energy Symposium presents a talk titled Averting Energy Catastrophe: Why I Bet the Farm on China and Innovation by Matthew Nordan, Managing Partner at MNL Partners.

Matthew Nordan is a Managing Partner at MNL Partners. MNL develops energy and environmental projects in global markets, with a focus on China. He has spent 17 years focused on breakthrough technologies as an investor, advisor, and analyst. He is the co-founder and chairman of the investment committee at PRIME Coalition, a pioneering 501c3 nonprofit that is bringing philanthropic capital to energy innovation.

Prior to MNL, Matthew was a venture investor at Venrock, one of the world’s oldest and most successful venture capital firms. Before Venrock, Matthew was President of Lux Research, an advisory services firm for science-driven innovation that he co-founded in 2004. Earlier, Matthew held a variety of senior management roles at emerging technology advisor Forrester Research in the U.S. and Europe.

Matthew has testified before the U.S. Congress four times on emerging technology issues, was a founding member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Emerging Technologies, and is a widely sought-after speaker and commentator. He serves on the boards of FINSix, Boston-Power, and Greentown Labs (the largest cleantech incubator in the United States).
