UTSOA Public Lecture: Barbara Bestor

With a fresh and dynamic lineup of internationally renowned thought-leaders each semester, the Lectures and Exhibitions series is considered the signature public event series of the School of Architecture. Leaders in architecture, interior design, urban design, landscape architecture, and other allied disciplines present talks that capture career highlights and offer a range of models for practice, covering built projects, visionary concepts, and game-changing theories.

Architect Barbara Bestor, principal of Bestor Architecture in Los Angeles, will deliver a thought-provoking talk.

Since 1995, Bestor Architecture has actively redefined Los Angeles architecture with a practice that rigorously engages the city through design, art, and urbanism. Increasingly, the firm applies L.A.’s lessons to national undertakings. Projects such as Beats by Dre headquarters, Blackbirds small-lot housing development, and Intelligentsia café illustrate a continued exploration of architectural form through experimentation, research, and graphics.
