https://www.lib.utexas.edu/events/104The 2018 UT Digital Preservation Symposium Building Community will be held April 27 from 1-5 p.m. in the Perry-Castañeda Library. The symposium seeks to bring together information technology professionals, archivists, curators, librarians, faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students and others willing to share their experiences and contribute their perspectives on digital preservation and long-term access.
This symposium is an opportunity to discuss the value of digital work and help ensure that digital information remains accessible and usable. It is intended to locate possible overlaps, intersections, and partnerships that could help us think about digital preservation as a university-wide priority.
The symposium has been organized to hear and share stories about current projects, discuss issues in small breakout sessions, and learn from colleagues in a panel discussion on digital project grants, community building, and preservation.
We invite proposals for lightning talks about your digital projects, and your preservation challenges or successes. Lightning talks are 2-5 minutes and can be a presentation or pitch for a completed project, a project currently underway, or a project you just started thinking about AND its contribution to digital preservation. Submit a brief abstract (40 words) to indicate your interest in giving a lightning talk by March 29, 2018.
Please come share you work and help us build the digital preservation community at The University of Texas at Austin!
