A Minoan Heterotopia in Egypt: A lecture on the Toreador Frescoes at Tell el-Dab‘a

The discovery of Minoan wall paintings at the Egyptian Tell el-Dab‘a (Avaris) in the 1990s was an archaeological sensation. This lecture proposes a new approach towards better understanding the complexity of this phenomenon and the transcultural processes at work in the Late Bronze Age Eastern Mediterranean.
