Apply for Multicultural Leadership Institute

MLI 2019 Everyday Social Justice: From the Individual to the Community

The Multicultural Leadership Institute offers UT undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on activities to develop personal leadership, organization and planning skills. The Institute consists of 6 weeks of leadership seminars that discuss topics such as identity, leadership, activism and community organizing, allyship, intersectionality, solidarity and more. Participants will enjoy a fun and interactive environment with people from diverse backgrounds.

MLI also puts together three different workshops for Explore UT that specifically target underrepresented high school students of color. Explore UT, the biggest open house in Texas, provides an opportunity for visitors to examine the rich and varied programs that are a part of everyday life on this campus and participants of MLI will be able to enhance that experience.

Ultimately, students will not only walk away with a certificate and fulfillment of a Burnt Orange Society requirement, but they will also develop the skills necessary to take charge, stand out and influence UT and Austin for the better.

Light food and drinks will be provided during the weekly seminars! MLI will occur Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m, beginning February 7th, and ends March 14th

If you are interested in participating in MLI, please fill out this short application and submit it by 11:59 PM on Friday,  February 1st, 2019.
