The Division of Housing and Food Service (DHFS) is currently accepting applications for Graphic Design Student Assistant for Fall 2017.
The Graphic Design Student Assistant will support the DHFS Marketing Team by designing marketing collateral for both housing and food service. This position reports directly to the Marketing Manager who supervises marketing, graphic design, communications and social media. This position is great for someone who likes to work independently at times and as part of a team.
Duties:
Work collaboratively to develop concepts and design creative, brand-compliant materials including brochures, signage, and promotional items that support DHFS.
Work with existing templates to resize, update copy, change pictures and adjust layout
Create website imagery and digital design assets, to include: banner art, thumbnails, infographics, etc.
Provide appropriate electronic files and materials as needed
Balance tight deadlines with great design
Conceptualize, brainstorm and create new design campaigns
Perform basic pre-print duties (creating print ready/hi-res PDFs)
Adhere to existing style manuals, publication guidelines and university branding specification
Qualifications
• Portfolio of graphic design work
• Written recommendation from art professor
• Resume
• Sophomore or Junior rank
Approximate Hours per Week: 10.00
Hourly Wage: $8.50
