The McNair Scholars program is currently recruiting and accepting students for the 2020-2021 school year! Federally funded, the McNair Scholars program seeks to increase the number of undergraduate students earning doctoral degrees who are low-income and first-generation, and/or who come from communities underrepresented in graduate education. Program participants must be committed to enrolling in graduate programs with an end goal of successfully completing a Ph.D.

All McNair Scholars obtain a faculty mentor, work on an independent research project, have opportunities to travel and present their research, receive free GRE prep (worth $2,000), and are eligible for up to $5,500 for participating.

We would love to answer any questions you may have.  Please reach out to Dr. Eric Dieter or attend our drop-in office hours on the following dates for any questions about the program:

  • Wednesdays from 12-1 pm with Graduate Assistant Hannah Hill - Zoom ID: 768 373 733
  • Thursdays from 3-4 pm with Program Director Dr. Eric Dieter - Zoom ID: 512 232 8487

Applications reviewed on a rolling basis, priority given to earlier applications.
