A conversation between artist Mariana Castillo Deball and archivist Michael Hironymous. Mariana, a Mexican international award-winning artist featured in the exhibition, will be talking about the aesthetic elements of the maps and how her own artistic practice has been inspired by Indigenous cartography. As the former Rare Books Librarian at the Benson Latin American Collection, Michael will be addressing the initiative that brought digital copies of the maps in the exhibition to the communities that produced them centuries ago, as well as the effect that such project had in his personal life.
