Breaking the Silence

Breaking the Silence is a gender-inclusive annual event that serves as a space for survivors to speak out about their experiences with relationship violence. There will be an open mic for survivors and allies to share stories, an interactive art installation called Visual Voices, and a resource fair with both on- and off-campus organizations. Light refreshments will be available. Participation in the speak out is not required to attend.

Throughout the night we will have performances and a keynote speaker.

Performances will take place from 6:30 – 8 PM. Survivor open mic will begin at 8 PM.

If you would like your story to be shared anonymously at Breaking the Silence, please submit it at www.tinyurl.com/BTSanon2019

If you need accommodations to attend the event, please e-mail us at: voicesagainstviolence@austin.utexas.edu

Student volunteers are a vital part of the event. If you or your student org want to help make the event possible, visit www.tinyurl.com/BTS2019volunteer
