Free EventNAMI On Campus at UT Presents: The First Annual #BreakTheStigmaWeek (April 16th-April 19th), which is open and free to all of UT. Join us for a week of discussion, activities, performances, and more surrounding mental illness. Our purpose is to break the stigma that people with mental illness face by encouraging conversation about mental health. We hope to create a safe environment for UT students to openly discuss experiences and struggles with mental illness. We can’t wait to see you at our events.
Events:
Monday, April 16th- Tabling (10am-1pm on Speedway):
Start your Monday off right with FREE animal therapy. Be featured on NAMI’s social media platforms and win FREE candy and baked goods by posting on social media.
Tuesday April 17th- Open Mic Night (7-9pm in BUR 216):
Join us for a night of powerful performances surrounding mental illness. FREE Panera Bread, baked goods, and snacks will be provided. Wednesday April 18th- Mental Illness Trivia (10am- 1pm on Speedway):
Are you knowledgeable about mental illness? Join NAMI for fun trivia, test your knowledge, and win stress reducing prizes! FREE candy and baked goods will be provided!
April 19th- Table Talks (6-7:30pm in SSB G1.312):
Engage with NAMI and UT Professionals in dialogue and discussion about mental illness. Come share experiences and stances on mental health topics that include: minorities and mental health, gun violence, LGBTQ and mental health, and more. Snacks and baked goods will be provided!
