The Humanities Institute's Difficult Dialogues Program, in partnership with the School of Law, will host a “Dialogue on Free Speech and Academic Freedom” for both students (undergraduates and graduate) and faculty. This dialogue will consider the principles of free speech and academic freedom and debates about limits to free expression, particularly in a university context. A panel discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer session, with participants bringing perspectives from law, liberal arts, social work, and student affairs. Dr. Pauline Stong, Director of the Humanities Institute, will moderate the dialogue with Prof. David Rabban (School of Law), Prof. H.W. Perry (School of Law and College of Liberal Arts), Dr. Shetal Vohra-Gupta (Steve Hick School of Social Work), and Carol A. Longoria, J.D., Deputy to the Vice President for Student Affairs.
