Join us on Thursday the 7th of March for a dinner, lecture, and conversation with Dr. Michael Strauss, as he describes the science of quantum mechanics, including the inherent indeterminacy in nature, and discusses how that might affect God's knowledge and sovereignty. Dr. Michael Strauss is a David Ross Boyd Professor Physics at the University of Oklahoma. He conducts research in high-energy particle physics, currently with the data from the ATLAS detector at CERN laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland where he studies the fundamental particles and forces that make up the universe. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical science from Biola University and his Ph.D. in experimental elementary particle physics from the University of California in Los Angeles. His previous research was done at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
Besides being an accomplished researcher and professor of physics, Dr. Strauss is a committed Christian who passionately searches for integration between his work and belief, inviting others to join him in exploring and wondering in the vast complexity of creation.
Dinner starts at 6, and Dr. Stauss begins his talk at 7. Event is free and open to all.
