The afternoon will focus on tackling 21st-century challenges to equity and access, with presentations from several esteemed members of the psychiatry community: 

• Darrell G. Kirch, CEO of the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC)
• Donald R. Vereen, Jr., director of the University of Michigan Substance Abuse Research Center
• Altha Stewart, president-elect of the American Psychiatric Association
• William Lawson, assistant to the dean for Behavioral Health Disparities at Dell Medical School

Dean Clay Johnston will moderate a post-talk discussion with presenters and attendees.

During the summit, we will work to develop a concept for how diversity in health can best impact medical education — and how it can best be matched to the needs of communities.

Following the summit, there will be a reception honoring Dr. Lawson for his tireless work to shine a light on health disparities.
