Directed by Alfred HitchcockRebecca stars Laurence Olivierand Joan Fontaine in a romantic psychological thriller focused on a woman adjusting to her new role as an aristocrat's wife, haunted by the specter of his first wife. In his first American film project, Hitchcock worked with producer David O. Selznick, whose archive documenting his Hollywood studio operations is housed at the Center.

Rebecca received 11 Academy Award nominations in 1941 and won Best Picture and Best Cinematography.
