Fortlandia

The Wildflower Center presents Fortlandia, a collection of unique forts by local architecture and design firms, individual artists, and students from The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture.

Each fort has been custom-built to evoke memories of childhoods spent escaping into nature and daydreaming outdoors. Delight in these innovative spaces as they transport you to fantastic imaginary worlds and inspire an appreciation for art and nature — and the curious, wonderful ways in which they intersect.

Sure to delight all ages, we invite you to interact with the ten original forts, hang out and have a picnic near your favorite, bring your sketchbook and even create/construct your own fort in our Fort Build area!

Open from October 2018 – February 2019 in the Wildflower Center’s Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum. Open every day, less a few major holidays. Learn more about visiting the Wildflower Center here.

Entry is included with regular admission; admission is always free for current UT students, faculty, and staff.
