Texas Athletics Sustainability works with all environmental initiatives of the Texas Athletics program, and we are currently striving for zero waste at all athletic events by 2020, in conjunction with the campus zero waste initiative. Zero waste means that 90% of all trash is diverted from the landfill into compost and recycling streams. This is a task which requires a lot of manpower, so volunteers are essential for us to reach this goal. 

We are in need of volunteers to work for our Sustainability Sort Squad and Sustainability Spirit Squad. Our Sustainability Sort Squad volunteers are needed on Sundays after games, and is our main focus. Our Sustainability Spirit Squad volunteers on Saturdays during games to help educate fans on our zero waste practices. SUSTAINABILITY SORT SQUAD

We need volunteers for Sustainability Sort Squad which works to sort waste produced during the game into the proper streams. The shifts are 3 hours long, and your group will be provided with water and a free t-shirt! In addition to this, we are offering groups the chance to fundraise for their organization for each three-hour shift. The pay increments are as follows: 

• 5 volunteers per 3 hour shift = $150
• 10 volunteers per 3 hour shift = $300
• 15 volunteers per 3 hour shift = $500
• 20 + volunteers per 3 hour shift = $750

• Sunday, October 14th
• Sunday, November 4th
• Sunday, November 18th

SUSTAINABILITY SPIRIT SQUAD

We need volunteers for Sustainability Spirit Squad which works to educate fans on Texas Athletics’ zero waste initiatives, as well as appropriate recycling and composting. The shifts are 4 hours long, and your group will be provided with a free t-shirt, water bottle and meal voucher! In addition, we are offering groups the chance to fundraise for their organization for each four hour shift. The pay rate is as follows:

• 5-9 volunteers per 4 hour shift = $100
• 10+ volunteers per 4 hour shift = $200

• Saturday, September 22nd
• Saturday, October 13th
• Saturday, November 3rd
• Saturday, November 17th
