The conference "German Abroad 2," the follow-up conference to "German Abroad," held in Vienna in July 2014, focuses on structural and sociolinguistic  issues of German-speaking  minority groups from the  perspectives of variationist sociolinguistics,  language contact,  and  multilingualism . The focus of the conference  is on German-speaking minorities in the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania, but contributions focusing on other language contact  situations involving German­ speaking  minority groups are also welcome. The two-day conference will take place on Nov. 2-3 in the Glickman Center.
