DESCRIPTION:The conference "German Abroad 2\," the follow-up conference to 
 "German Abroad\," held in Vienna in July 2014\, focuses on structural and 
 sociolinguistic  issues of German-speaking  minority groups from the  pers
 pectives of variationist sociolinguistics\,  language contact\,  and  mult
 ilingualism . The focus of the conference  is on German-speaking minoritie
 s in the Americas\, Asia\, Europe\, Africa\, and Oceania\, but contributio
 ns focusing on other language contact  situations involving German­ speak
 ing  minority groups are also welcome. The two-day conference will take pl
 ace on Nov. 2-3 in the Glickman Center.
