Global Fusion Conference in Global Media & International Communication Studies

The Global Fusion Conference began in 2000 to promote academic excellence in Global Media and International Communication Studies. The conference is sponsored by a consortium of universities: The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Ohio University, Southern Illinois University, University of Virginia, and Temple University.

Organized and hosted by graduate students from The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-Television-Film, this year’s conference will take place in Austin, Texas, from Friday, October 25th to Sunday, October 27th, in the Belo Center for New Media (BMC).

Call for Papers
The conference welcomes non-published research submissions is on any aspect of global media and international aspects of mediated communication.  The deadline to submit is July 15, 2019. More details can be found here.

Registration Information
Registration provides access to all conference events, including roundtables, the Friday evening reception, breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on Saturday.

  • Non-UT Austin Students & Independent Scholars
    Early registration for non-UT Austin students and independent scholars is $40 until 8/15, and $50 from 8/16 until 10/23. The walk-up rate is $60 the day of the event.
  • Non-UT Faculty
    Early registration for non-UT Austin faculty members will be $100 until 8/15, and $125 from 8/16 until 10/23.  The walk-up rate is $140 the day of the event.
  • UT Faculty, Students, & Staff
    UT Austin students and faculty have complimentary registration. However, we still encourage UT students and faculty to register as they will be provided name tags and access to the evening reception.
