Holi 2019

Holi is the Hindu festival of colors celebrating the arrival of spring. People throw colored powder ("rang") on each other and dance to a variety of songs; it makes for a fun time and a lot of amazing pictures. This festival is also the inspiration behind many other popular events like the Color Run. This year, the theme of our Holi celebration, "Breaking Barriers Through Color", intends to bridge any divisions we experience or feel. Despite superficial differences in race, religion, or ethnicity, once we are covered in color we all look identical, representing how we are all fundamentally connected and the same within.

Holi is hosted by UT Hindu Students Association and is the largest student-run event on campus. Historically, this event has attracted nearly 8,000 attendees and entails free fun through biodegradable color, live music, interactive activities, and educational booths.
