Please join us for International Education Week on campus to learn more about the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship with the South Asia Institute.

Some of the things we will discuss will be important deadlines, application eligibility, application info, the SAI Summer Language Program and any other questions that interested applicants may have.

The highly competitive FLAS Fellowship is funded by the U.S. Department of Education through its Title VI grant. The fellowship assists meritorious graduate and undergraduate students undergoing intensive training in modern languages and related area or international studies. SAI offers academic year funding for the following languages:

• Bengali (Bangla)
• Hindi
• Kannada
• Malayalam
• Persian (if it relates directly to the study of South Asia)
• Tamil
• Telugu
• Urdu
• Other approved contemporary South Asian languages
