Project & Position Description
Dr. Miguel Pinedo is currently seeking to hire a bilingual (Spanish/English) GRA with experience conducting qualitative interviews to work on a short-term research study. The aim of the study is to better understand how migration-related factors (e.g., fear of deportation, fear of parental deportation, perceived anti-immigration sentiments) influence the mental health and substance using behaviors of Latinos residing in Austin, Texas. A total of 40 Latinos will be recruited for this study. Main responsibilities will include assisting in recruiting participants and data collection (i.e., conducting the qualitative interviews). Other responsibilities will include tracking participant incentives, post-collection data entry, transcribing interviews, and coding. A significant portion of the work will take place off-site in the community of Austin. This is a 10-hour a week position.
Timeline
This position is expected to begin in mid-February or early March. The period of employment will be approximately 25 weeks with a possibility of extending, depending on funding.
Compensation
This position will pay $20 an hour.
