Language Development Laboratory: Research Assistants Needed

The UT Austin Language Development Lab is seeking research assistants to assist with a research study exploring the relationship between infant-parent interactions and infant language development.

In this study, researchers will observe parents and infants interact during a play session. Research assistants will be asked to guide and record play sessions, complete an interactive assessment with the infants, and guide parents through a series of questionnaires. In addition, research assistants will help with participant recruitment and data coding.

This study will take place at families' homes within Austin and thus research assistant applicants must have a means of transportation and be willing to travel (gas costs will be compensated).

We strive to provide a valuable learning experience for research assistants by providing the opportunity to experience various aspects of research including recruiting participants, conducting research studies, entering and analyzing data and learning about relevant research and literature.

Requirements:

*Must be majoring in psychology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field (flexible)

*Must be genuinely interested in research

*Must be able to commit 7-10 hours per week

*Must have a vehicle for transportation and be willing to travel within the Austin area

Preferred qualifications:

*Spanish-English bilingual

*Two semester commitment (e.g., summer and fall)
