Lauren Clay: Studio, Sculptures and Installations

Lauren Clay is an artist who creates sculptures and immersive installations. In this artist talk, Clay will share images of her work, her studio process, references and the development of her work from painting to installation. Clay will discuss her process of creating site-specific installations, including her recent solo show at Asya Geisberg Gallery in New York.

As a Guest Artist in Print she will be spending a week creating large embossed lithographic prints with the help of students.

Lauren Clay lives and works in New York. She received a MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2007, and BFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2004. Her work has been widely exhibited nationally, including solo exhibitions at Asya Geisberg Gallery (New York), Larissa Goldston Gallery (New York), Whitespace Gallery (Atlanta), Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (Denver), and Savannah College of Art and Design. She has created site-specific installations for the Brooklyn Academy of Music (New York), Arts Brookfield (New York), and Paradise City (Seoul, South Korea). Clay is a 2019 recipient of the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant. Press includes The New York Times, Artforum, Artsy, BombMagazine, Hi Fructose, and The Washington Post. Clay’s editioned artist book, Subtle Body, published by Small Editions NY, is included in the library collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Brooklyn Museum of Art.
