Longhorn Research Poster Session Abstract Deadline

Research Week is the university’s annual celebration of undergraduate research and creative activity, giving undergraduate researchers the opportunity to showcase their work and less experienced students the opportunity to learn more about the possibilities for undergraduate research and exploration at UT. The Feb. 28 submission deadline is quickly approaching!

This year, students can compete for $5000 in awards recognizing UT’s top student research posters by participating in the Longhorn Research Poster Session (Wednesday, April 17 from 12-2 p.m. in the Union Ballroom). Register here to submit your 300-word abstract and present your research or creative activity. Abstracts will be chosen to ensure that a range of disciplines are reflected, and will be selected according to the following criteria:

  • Is there a clear statement of the research question or impetus for creative activity?
  • Are the methods clear?
  • Are the results or outcomes presented clearly?
  • Are the conclusions justified?

During the event, judges will use these criteria (as well as poster design and oral presentation skill) to give $2000, $1000, and $500 awards to the top posters nominated by their colleges, as well as to select a $500 poster design award winner from all posters. All poster session attendees can cast a ballot for their favorite poster to win a $1000 audience choice award
