Mid-Semester Re-Charge: Plant the Seeds of Mindfulness

Come re-charge and plant the seeds of mindfulness on Tuesday, October 12 from 4-7 p.m. at Jester Gardens. Students will learn about mindfulness activities they can implement throughout their daily routine. Students can stop by whenever they please during the duration of the event at Jester Gardens. Students can choose which activity stations they participate in, and they can leave at their leisure. 

 

This event is brought to you by the following campus partners: Living the Longhorn Life Program, UT Farm Stand, University Housing and Dining, and the Longhorn Wellness Center. 

 

Activity Stations:

  • Scrub Away Stress: students can create their own DIY body scrub.
  • Gratitude Writing: students can write a short message of gratitude on seeding paper. Afterwards students can plant the seeding paper. 
  • Tea Bar: students can sample tea. 
  • Harvesting and Planting
  • Mindful Walk through the Gardens: students can tour the Jester Gardens and learn more about the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 grounding practice.
  • Spotify Playlist Creation Station: students will create playlists with other fellow Longhorns.
  • Short Morning Yoga Routine: students will be taught a short 5-10 minute morning yoga routine they can replicate at home. 

 

Safety Precautions: Anyone feeling unwell, displaying symptoms, or is high risk, should stay home. Face masks are highly recommended during the duration of the event but are not mandatory.
