Molotov Seminar 79 · What Makes a Great Melody?

Classical and contemporary musician Behnam Arzaghi will explore – with live demos – the music of different times, genres and cultures, in order to hunt down the elusive universal qualities that make a melody great.

Behnam spent 14 years of his life training as a classical musician to bring melodies to life on his violin. His compositions have been performed by chamber ensemble, symphony orchestra, and featured in film. He now studies computer science and physics, and spends his free time on soccer, yoga and rock-climbing.
